The ICC has released the schedule for the T20 WC Schedule. Matches will be played in seven Australian cities from October 16th through November 13th. The first 12 countries have been confirmed while the final four will be determined by global qualification. There will once again be a great match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan during this event.
As part of the Super 12 feats, England, New Zealand, Australia, and Afghanistan are placed in group one, while India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh are placed in group two. Sydney will host a clash between the two finalists of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE where New Zealand will face the pending champions Australia. Later in the tournament, India and Pakistan will compete in one of the most anticipated matches.
Super 12 will conclude on the 5th and 6th of November for both groups. Apart from Pakistan vs India and Australia vs New Zealand matches, other matches will stand out as possible major games during the Super 12 stage. The 2021 semi-final between England and New Zealand will be a repeat of the match played at the Gabba in Brisbane on the 1st of November. In addition, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in Adelaide on the final afternoon of the Super 12 stage.
About T20 World Cup Group Stage
The tournament will begin with a six-day group stage – the first round – to determine the final four teams to qualify for the Super Twelve. Sri Lanka and Namibia will join West Indies and Scotland in Group B with two additional teams from the Global Qualifier in Group A.
On alternate days, Bellerive Oval in Hobart and Cardinia Park in Geelong will host daily double-headers, followed by all Group A and Group B matches in Tasmania. The matches will be played from October 16 to November 13. In the Super 12 stage, the winner of Group A and the runner-up of Group B will advance to Group 1, and the winner of Group B and the second-placed team in Group A will advance to Group 2.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Final Groups and Fixtures Confirmed [Zimbabwe Wins T20 World Cup Qualifiers]
The first semi-final will take place at the SCG on 9 November while the second semi-final will take place at the Adelaide Oval the following day. The final will be played at the MCG in front of a capacity of 100,024 spectators.
There will be 7 locations where this event will take place. During the opening week in Geelong, Cardinia Park will host six matches, including the first round, while Bellerive Oval in Hobart will host nine matches, six in the first round and three more during the first three days of Super 12. The remaining matches of the Super 12 will be played at The Gabba (Brisbane), Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval, Sydney Cricket Ground, and Melbourne Cricket Ground.
