In less than five minutes after going on sale to the general public, the MCG sold out tickets to the India vs Pakistan World Cup T20 match.
On the first day of general sales, general ticket allocations for two match days of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup were sold out. The general ticket allocations for India vs. Pakistan match on June 9 and a double-header featuring South Africa vs. Bangladesh and India vs. Group A runner-up on June 14 have all been sold.
Over 200,000 tickets were sold during the pre-sale period for the 45 matches in the USA and Westendies from June 1 to 29.
There are over 20.5 million Indian cricket viewers who live in the United States and Canada and they are very excited to watch the live telecast of the T20 World Cup and the Ind-Pak match which will be held on 9th June. With such a great fanbase, Cricket is becoming a popular sport in that area also.

There was such a high demand to see one of world cricket’s biggest rivalries. All allocations for India vs. Pakistan match were sold within five minutes of the sale.
Fans will have the chance to secure tickets for all other fixtures in the general public sale when the global showcase for men’s T20 cricket comes to Australia for the first time. Over 800,000 fans are expected to attend the inaugural international match.

“We know that so far our ticket purchasers are primarily residing in Australia, so to have two match-days with General Ticket allocations all sold that feature India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa shows the passion for cricket from fans in those communities.”
“With news of Australian borders starting to open to visitors from February 21, the timing is perfect for fans around the world to start planning a trip to Australia and be part of a global cricket celebration later this year.”
The T20 World Cup will occur between 1st June to 29th June across the USA and West Indies.
